It was 02 March 2008, 0430 AM when I heard my wife, Tina’s voice. She said “Tirut! My Water Bag broke laa!”
It didn’t take me much to open my sleepy eyes and get up on my feet. Instantly, I jumped out of the bed and went to inform my in-laws on the event. It took us several minutes to actually get our self ready. This moment is definetly one of the moment when you feel you adrenalin pumping very fast - “terkejut beruk laa” as you did not expect it to be this soon. Interestingly, Tina was quite relax in handling those moment and she did not panic.
Planning wise, the “c-sec” was supposed to be done on 030308 at 1300 hours but I guess you will never know when the baby wants to come out. To make the story interesting, here’s the chronology of events on what happened.
-
0430 AM - Tina called me up and told me that her water bag broke
-
0440 AM - We are in the car and ready to make it to Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre. I took us 10 mins to get ready because I have put all necessary stuff earlier in the car.
-
0447 AM - Arrived Gleneagles. Tina was admitted directly to the Emergency room. The nurse brought her straight to the labour room. Luckily, we have made all the proper registration months before this happens so it was a smooth sailing arrangements all the way
-
0515 AM - The nurse checks her opening in the labour room. I guess they wants to see if she can do the normal delivery. Based on the check-up, the baby’s head is still not attached and still floating. Therefore, c-sec is the only option now.
-
0600 AM - the nurse informed me that our doctor, Datuk Dr. Abdul Aziz will come around 0700 AM and the operation will be at 0730 AM
-
0715 AM - the nurses went into the room and brought Tina to operation room. I followed all the way.
- 0725 AM - Arrived the operation room and I was told by one of the nurse that I can’t go into the operation room
- 0730 AM - I went out and waited at the waiting room when I received a call by my doctor that they are waiting for me. I rushed to the operation room
- 0735 AM - Met the doctor and he told me to wear the surgery shirts. Went inside the doctor’s room changed my clothes. By this time, I look like one of the doctors in Grey’s Anatomy.
- 0740 AM - The nurse came out and told me that I can’t go in because they can’t find Tina’s spinal cord and they will proceed with gas mask. It would be useless for me to go in as I will not be able to interact with her due to the gas mask. Hmm, damn, waiting room it is then
- 0808 AM - The baby is born. I heard his voice from afar. I rushed to the nurse to see the baby.
Okay, that’s a short snapshot of the chronology of events on what happened that day. Seeing the baby for the first time, I was so happy that the baby was fine. Tina is also fine. Thank GOD that both of them are safe. Frankly, this is definitely one of the best moment in my life.
Here are some of the earlier photos taken.
