An
IP address (
Internet Protocol address) is a unique
address that certain electronic devices currently use in order to identify and communicate with each other on a
computer network utilizing the
Internet Protocol standard (
IP)—in simpler terms, a computer
address.
While a physical address, also real address, or binary address, is the memory address, that is electronically (in the form of binary number) presented on the computer address bus circuitry in order to enable the data bus to access a particular storage cell of main memory.
How do you actually check and get your IP address and the physical address?
The reason I am writing this is to help Kimberly to set restricted access to her wireless router connection. This will be first step to do it. Here are the simple step how you can do this?
Step 1: Go to Start >> Run

Step 2: A ‘run’ window will pop-up. Type ‘cmd’ and press ‘Enter’

Step 3: Another window will pop-up. Type ‘ipconfig/all’ and press ‘Enter’

Step 4: A summary of your computer address will be shown. Now, write your computer physical address (take the wireless address not the Ethernet adapter) somewhere, you will use this in the next posts.

I hope this will help all of you that is a bit curious of your IP and the physical address is? Watch out for the next post on setting up your wireless router address.
